Have you ever tried to change lanes, only to realize at the last moment that there is a car in your blind spot? Such close calls are not uncommon and can be dangerous. Mazda’s Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) uses radars mounted in the rear bumper to detect vehicles approaching from behind and in the adjacent lane. It alerts drivers to the presence of vehicles in the blind spot on either side by displaying an icon in the appropriate door mirror. If the driver indicates to change lanes with a vehicle in the blind spot, the icon flashes and a warning beep is sounded.
＊The system may be affected by various conditions such as weather (rain, snow, etc.), status of approaching vehicles (the approaching vehicle drives at almost the same speed, so driving in parallel for a certain time), road condition (the road width is extremely narrow or wide)
＊ Always check the surrounding area visually before making an actual lane change. The system is only designed to assist you in checking for vehicles at your rear when making a lane change. Due to certain limitations with the operation of this system, BSM warning light may not flash or it might be delayed even though a vehicle is in an adjacent driving lane. Always make it your responsibility as a driver to check the rear.

RCTA (Rear Cross Traffic Alert)
Have you ever had to hit the brakes suddenly when backing out of a parking space because you didn’t see a vehicle coming from the side? Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) is designed to help you make sure it’s safe to start backing up. The system uses the same radars and indicators as BSM to watch for vehicles coming from both sides and alert the driver when they come near.
＊If RCTA detects an approaching vehicle when reversing, the icon in the door mirror flashes and a warning beep is sounded. Always check the surrounding area visually before actually putting the vehicle in reverse.
＊RCTA functions differently from dealer-installed parking sensors which sound an alarm when they detect nearby stationary objects.

There is life after EoL, EoS…
End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Products: it is a common term in the world of networking hardware.
But reasonable budget planning suggests some other solutions than migrating to newer models every time the manufacturer announces EoS.
EoS stands for “End of Sale.” EoS items are those you are no longer be able to purchase directly from a manufacturer.
EoL stands for “End of Life,” which essentially means that a vendor has decided that the product has reached the end of its “useful lifespan.” After this particular date the manufacturer will no longer be marketing, sustaining and (in most cases) selling the product in question.
End of Life policies are the standard in today’s IT environment often forcing an artificial 3-5 year upgrade cycle. When a particular vendor schedules hardware for End of Service Life, it can be a difficult time for the customers who use those products. But you don’t need to abandon a hardware because Cisco no longer supports it and is telling you it is now ‘obsolete’. Budget shouldn’t be wasted on swapping out productive hardware. Infotheek Group acquires market leader Scholten Awater.
Leiden, 25 April 2017 – The IT-giant group of GHS, Infotheek Group, is acquiring Dutch market leader Scholten Awater. The acquisition will result in a European IT company with revenues of almost €600 million and over 800 employees in 14 different countries.
Infotheek is purchasing all the shares from Saphin Investment Group, the shareholder of Scholten Awater, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition is motivated by three main drivers: knowledge sharing, enlarging the portfolio, and benefits of scale in relation to past and future investments.

For both parties, the acquisition creates an opportunity to grow further and develop into an even stronger European player which can serve the entire market, including large businesses and the public domain as well as smaller businesses and consumers. As a result of the acquisition, Infotheek Group will have all the necessary knowledge and expertise under one roof.
